Overview: Experience the charm and nature of Old Seagrove in this quaint 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage that overlooks the canal. Paddle your troubles away to Western Lake in one of the provided kayaks! A ten minute stroll will take you into Seaside where you can enjoy award-winning restaurants, unique shops and the ambiance of a quaint coastal village. Close enough to walk or bike to everything…beach, galleries, fine cuisine, bike trails, markets, live theater, a family run book store, outdoor bazaars, and coffee shops! Natural landscaping leads right up to the canal dock. Owner provides kayaks for your pleasure. On the Canal is on a quiet dead end street and offers the ultimate in privacy.
First Floor: The main entrance into On the Canal is a foyer in which you will find the laundry room with full capacity washer and dryer. Up a half flight of stairs and then back down a half flight is the first floor den, bath and queen bedroom. New wood flooring on this level. The den offers a double sleeper sofa, 3 side chairs, side board, mini fridge and wifi-enabled SmarTV. French doors open off this room to a covered porch with Adirondack seating. From this porch, you can view the peaceful canal. The queen bedroom has pocket doors to close it off from the den area and is outfitted with bedside tables and lamps and a large closet with built-in drawers. The first floor bath is off the den area and has a vanity sink and shower.
Second Floor Common Areas: Up on the second floor, you will find the open kitchen, dining and living room all of which look out over the canal. Vaulted ceilings grace all rooms. Kitchen / dining area is tiled and living room / bedrooms have wood flooring. Quartz countertops and ample cabinetry accent the kitchen. There are stainless appliances, including fridge with icemaker/door water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave and glass-top range. Breakfast bar wraps around and has the sink centered on it, allowing the chef to keep up with the folks in the living area. The dining area is adjacent to the kitchen and features a dining table that seats six. There is a convenient grilling deck off the dining area with a charcoal grill. Living room has sofa, 4 side chairs, large coffee table, LED SmarTV with sound bar. NOTE: this home has streaming services only, no cable TV is provided unless you have an account with one of the services that provides network television stations. French doors lead from the living room to the screened porch which overlooks the canal. Outfitted with multiple chairs and an outdoor dining table and chairs, this porch is the perfect escape for the family. (Fireplace is decorative only.)
Second Floor Bedrooms / Bathroom: The master bedroom with queen bed, dresser with mirror, ceiling fan, nightstand with lamp, large closet, wifi enabled SmarTV and a reading chair. Private outdoor balcony overlooks front of house and has two chairs. Large hall bath serves entire second floor and has a garden tub / shower and a double vanity sink. The third bedroom is a Queen and has a bedside table with lamp, dresser, side chairs and a closet.
Outside: Canal front dock. Five kayaks and a canoe are available for your use in the waterway. We provide paddles and an assortment of adult life jackets. Charcoal grill. Hot / cold outdoor shower. Parking for up to 4 cars in gravel driveway.
Beach Access: The beach is about a 10 minute walk down lovely oak canopied dirt roads of Old Seagrove via the Dogwood / Thyme Beach Access. Seaside is just around the corner. The Nightcap Beach access is also just as close and offers a shaded trail to the beach. Seagrove Beach is all public beach so there is plenty of room to spread out.
